Hi, I'm Danielle. I live in a place that is fortunate and privileged but with a people who are destructive and ignorant (myself included). It occurs to me that I know very little about the world around me yet pass judgments on cultures and people that I don't understand. Knowing how hugely ignorant I am about the world, there are many who know way less.

I will begin the journey with geography. I'm bothered that my country has been at war for over 10 years in a part of the world where I can name only a few places. I'm bothered that after my trip to Botswana, Zambia & Zimbabwe I was met with incorrect assumptions about religion and conflict. I will start small. I will find information that I find interesting. The goal is to hopefully become familiar with the world. I think it's important to be able to recognize a country on a map, I think it's the least I could do.

I will pick countries in groups based on where they are located. When I've exhausted all of the countries in that area I will move on. I will acknowledge places that may not be recognized as countries as well as I come across them. If you find things that are incorrect or that I am missing, please help me out.

My inquiries will tie that country to my life if it is possible. I will research things that I would want to know if I was to arrive there tomorrow. I will post pictures from my own collection and from friends collections if they are available.
